Atomic Split Fin Product Review

Freddy’s 5280 Scuba review of the Atomic Split Fin

More Propulsion With Less Air Consumption! All it took was watching the tail fins of fish – except that we couldn’t keep up with them because our traditional fins took too much effort. Using hard-kicking paddle fins can result in let strain, fatigue and cramping. Because of the kick resistance of a paddle fin, divers often “felt” like they were moving fast. But underwater speedometers proved that these divers were actually moving relatively slow. SplitFins deliver more propulsion with less drag and kick with less effort. Reducing the stress and strain of the kick results in greater sustained speed, power and comfort. Independent testing has also confirmed that the SplitFin design significantly reduces air consumption.

Joe C. says:

how do these work with frog kick, ,helicopter and reverse kicks?

Jess Peoples says:

These are great fins. I have the yellow fins. Split fins are the best because they don’t require as much effort to kick. How does these compare to the scubapro split fins?

Mista K says:

EXCEPTIONAL REVIEW.  It covers off almost everything (thanks for taking the time to make it.  Are the Atomic positive or negative buoyant?  I have problems with floating legs and fins which really peeves me off – just my body type.  Only an issue when fully suited up, without wetsuit my body and legs are pretty neutral and easy to work the fins.

Would this be available with the newer bungee heel strap today? In your opinion, are the spring or bungee heel straps worth the extra investment? Thanks.

Great information presented here, doing research before starting my first class, and ran across your page.
Would it be possible to cut the volume of the intro splash a bit, headphone users would appreciate it.

It is made in Taiwan, I live in Taiwan, but I have to go to US to get it 10 years ago.
