SCUBAPRO Diaphragm vs. Piston First Stages

To move air from your cylinder to your regulator’s second stage, a first stage uses either a piston system or a diaphragm system. Both can deliver excellent breathing performance; however, each has distinct advantages that are better suited to different diving situations. SCUBAPRO USA’s Technical Manager Rene’ Duprè explains.

What is considered “cold” for the purposes of a regulator? Or asked another way, at what temperature and below do you need to start looking at regulators with stated cold water performance?
