WATERPROOF B1 dive boot review, advice on buying a dive boot

THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE B1 WATERPROOF DIVE BOOT BOUGHT FROM SIMPLYSCUBA.COM. I AM NOT AT ALL IMPRESSED WITH THIS BOOT AS IT FAILED ITS PRIMARY FUNCTION OF KEEPING THE FOOT WARM, THIS ITS ALMOST ACCENTUATED BY THE MANUFACTURERS BOASTFUL . I EMAILED THE COMPANY REGARDING THE FAULTS OF THIS PRODUCT WITH NO REPLY…..SO HERE IS A LITTLE REVIEW TO WARN THE BUYING PUBLIC OF ITS FAULTS.
ALSO I WAS NOT OVERLY IMPRESSED WITH “SIMPLYSCUBA.COM” FOR NOT POSTING MY REVIEW OF THE PRODUCT. i FEAR THIS MAYBE DUE TO IT BEING NEGATIVE AND MAY IN TURN EFFECT THERE SALES POSSIBLY? YOU DECIDE.

I wish I view this video before I bought my b1 boots.

hi, thanks for the comments, all about feedback. I put the wetsuit right over the zip, but since the zip is not made of a water barrier construction and the neoprene behind it not stitched in a way to stop water…it does not stop water!!! Therefore flush through, my winter diving is usually 9 degrees and my feet are freezing after, when other boots do not have this effect. Thats my experience, but always glad to hear others.

Duncan Scobie says:

hi, yes, its was for flushing through and leaking like a sieve on both boots, not impressed. Nor impressed with rating system that does not allow any particularly negative comments.

Duncan Scobie says:

Leaks on both boots, I think it is all down to the zip and the neoprene flap behind it. I may have had a duff pair, that is a possibility , but no one from waterproof replied to my email regarding it !

Duncan Scobie says:

oh…and i have been wearing wetsuit boots for over 30 years, so do know how to put them on lol!

Duncan Scobie says:

hi, thanks for that, i too was putting wetsuit over the top, right over the zip intact, but neither the zip is a waterproof construction, which it can be, nor the stitching for the neoprene internal flap over the zip. But I do appreciate your comments tho…its what this is all about

I have a pair and I thinkthey are the best boot I have worn to date. Wore them in 10C water for 2 hours and my feet were just then becoming cold. Previously after 40 min with my old boots I became cold. I seal the tops of the boots with my wetsuit over them which is how they should be sealed up thus preventing significant water flow through the boot. They are very comfortable and as I said when properly worn seal well. I dive to 45 meters in 10C water and have no problems.

Very good video, and well said. I would have been curious as to whether this is one example of this boot (i.e., defective), or a general problem with them. As you have two feet, it is likely that it is a general problem. Thank you for sharing.
